It seems that the new trend is to write webpages, books, and slide decks about [insert stat-sounding thing] for hackers. A lot of this is then picked up by codebros to do quantitative things without bothering to look into the basics of how it works. And it’s stupid.
I’ll epxlain why, but before let me vent out my frustration.
If you believe in the for hackers hype, I want bad things to happen to you. I want this stupid alpaca wool hat you bought on etsy to give you a rash that will make your ear fall off. I want the barista to put a single shot of espresso instead of two in your double-soy venti latte. I want your childrens to grow up to use Windows. Frustration vented, I feel better, let’s start.
